STEP program

The State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) is a Federal grant administered by Export Montana. Montana exporters can apply for 50-75% reimbursement up to $10,000 for eligible international marketing activities, as follows:

1. International Trade Show Exhibition
2. Market Research & U.S. Commercial Service Programs 
3. Foreign Language Translation
4. International Compliance Testing
5. International Intellectual Property Protection 
6. International e-Commerce & Website Fees 
7. International Digital Marketing 
8. International Credit Insurance from EXIM Bank
9. International Travel Stipend 

*Companies may receive up to $30,000 in STEP awards per year.

Montana Pavilion at IWA Outdoor

Commerce, through the Small Business Administration's STEP grant, pays for all booth expenses, including booth space, furniture and graphics. The grant can reimburse up to $2,000 of your travel costs; our team will take care of all the preparations for the show. Therefore, this will be the easiest and most cost-effective trade show in which you will ever participate.
